How did you know I needed you today

how did you know i needed you today?

showing up in the most unusual ways:

i heard your voice

as you spoke to me in the warm, gentle breeze.

we sang together as our song 

happened to play at the exact moment i was stuck in the car running errands.

and, i could smell your usual dish 

as i drove past that cute little place we frequented so often. 

you showed me your favorite color brightly adorned in the oddest place possible, 

and the reddest cardinal i’ve ever seen 

was singing gaily, so beautifully perched on the lamppost outside. 

all reminding me that you knew… 

i needed you today. 

but also,

that you needed 

to be with me too.
